Gamedev Influencers Set to Return to Vilnius for GameOn

This 2-3 November, avid gamers, game developers, journalists and esports enthusiasts from across Europe and around the world will descend upon Vilnius for the fourth edition of GameOn, the Baltic States’ biggest gaming culture convention.

The two-day event, which has grown considerably since its inception in 2015, expects to draw 15,000+ visitors, 150 gamedev companies, and 100 media representatives. GameOn organisers are responding to this growth by expanding their event to deliver more value for business visitors. As such, this year’s event will feature an Indie Town where visitors can meet and interact with game developers, as well as an exclusive Business Area where B2B visitors can take advantage of valuable networking opportunities.

GameOn will also offer its usual conference setting with notable guest speakers representing companies like Unity, Wargaming, Vlambeer, Bohemia Interactive, 11 bit studios, KING, G2 esports, Guerrilla Games, and more. Presentations and workshops will be dedicated to knowledge-sharing in the area of gamedev, as well as the different applications of games for business, science and education, and much more. There will also be a programme specifically geared towards Lithuania’s YouTube and Twitch community, and of course, the event’s Tech Expo, cosplay competition, and famed esports tournament will be back and better than ever.

Vilnius serves as the perfect setting for a convention dedicated entirely to gaming culture. Much like GameOn, Lithuania’s capital has experienced significant growth in the gamedev sector in recent years. Most of Lithuania’s gamedev companies call Vilnius home, with several of them gaining international recognition. Nordcurrent’s Game Fever has had over a million downloads, TutoTOONS has developed over 300 games and have had 200 million downloads, and No Brakes Games has sold over 7 million copies of their game Human: Fall Flat.

Gamedev stands as yet another knowledge-based sector establishing itself as a significant driver of Vilnius’ expanding economy. It’s joining the likes of the city’s Startup, FinTech, Biotech, Shared Service Centre, Life Sciences, and High-Tech Manufacturing as a sector attracting foreign interest and investment. GameOn has certainly played a role in building-up this sector, and the event promises to bring even more attention to Vilnius’ potential as a city of innovations.

The convention will take place at LITEXPO, the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre. For more information on the event, visit the GameOn website at www.gameon.lt
