PDA Europe to Host Biopharmaceutical Conference in Vilnius

This 4-5 June, leading cell and gene therapy researchers, industry experts and regulatory representatives will convene in Vilnius for the 2019 PDA Europe Conference on Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) at the Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva. Entitled Cell and Gene Therapy – From Promise to Cure, the conference will invite speakers and participants to engage in discussions surrounding novel approaches to manufacturing and clinical implementation of personalised and precision medicines.

The Parenteral Drug Association’s (PDA) programme planning committee has put a lot of effort into presenting exciting case studies and examples of modern medical therapies to conference participants, and has an impressive line-up of speakers headlining the event. Moreover, the committee has confirmed a broad range of issues to treat over the course of the two-day conference, including alternative methods for sterility testing; viral safety testing of starting materials; clinical trial planning; commercial manufacturing; and evolving regulatory guidance and expectations. The conference will feature a Scientific Poster Session designed to bring attention to very specific topics, as well as a hands-on training course on the European GMP Guideline for ATMPs.

With biotechnology regarded among Vilnius’ most dynamic priority sectors, the idea of hosting a PDA Europe event and all the big names it promises to draw stands as a valuable opportunity for the city’s meeting and events industry, which is keen on bringing events to Vilnius that align with the city’s broader ambition to promote itself as a European startup, FinTech and Biotech hub.
